Do you already know the garden of the Horst-Janssen-Museum and the Stadtmuseum? It is a green oasis in the heart of Oldenburg’s city centre, ideal for relaxing. On the terrace of our café you can enjoy delicious homemade cakes and a cup of coffee. Or simply spread out your own blanket on the lawn and enjoy your picnic.
The garden is also ideal for a visit with children. It is surrounded from all sides by the museum buildings so that your children cannot slip away unnoticed and walk onto the street. Toys are available and of course you can also bring your own toys.
There is also a lot to see in the garden: a collection of sculptures by regional artists such as Waldemar Otto, Butjatha and Udo Reimann. The Italian-looking garden grotto, where you can pleasantly sit, too, dates back to the time of the founder of the Stadtmuseum, Theodor Francksen.
A visit to the garden is free of charge, as is a visit to the café. You do not need a museum ticket.
We look forward to seeing you!
