Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.
Closed on Mondays.
Closed on the following days: Good Friday, 1 May, 24, 25 and 31 December, 1 January.
Special openings: on public holidays that fall on a Monday, such as Easter Monday and Whit Monday as well as Ascension Day, German Unity Day (3 October), Reformation Day (31 October) and Boxing Day (26 December).
Attention, new entrance:
You can temporarily enter the museum through a new side entrance with stairs, as the old foyer has been demolished. Please note that the museum is currently not barrier-free. The side entrance is located in the street Am Stadtmuseum at the left/north end of the museum. The footpath by the museum is closed coming from the Lappan, the Horst Janssen Museum can be reached via a diversion through Raiffeisenstraße or from Pfermarkt. Read more under How to find us »
Admission Prices
Admission is free, due to restrictions caused by the construction site of the City Museum. Level 1 with the permanent exhibition and level 2 with a special exhibition are open. Level 3 is currently closed.
Tickets for public guided tours are only available online on Ticket2go » and at the Tourist Info (Lange Straße 3), as the museum does not currently have a ticket office due to the construction work.
Prices for Guided Tours
Public guided tour: 3 euros for 60 minutes, 4.50 euros for 90 minutes (plus ticket system fees if applicable)
Public guided tour for children: 3 euros per child
Group tours for up to 20 people (in German) : 35 euros (1 hour)
Group tours for up to 20 people (in German): 50 euros (1 1/2 hours)
Group tours in foreign languages: 55 euros
Prices for Kindergartens and Schools
Kindergarten groups without guided tour: free entry
Kindergarten groups with guided tour: 25 euros per hour
School classes without guided tour: free entry
School classes with guided tour: 25 euros per hour
School classes with practical part: 25 euros per hour plus 1 euro per person for material

By presenting the museum entrance ticket, you can obtain tickets for the City Walk » at a reduced price from the Oldenburg Tourist-Information.
