Barriere-free visit

Entrance and Lift

The Horst Janssen Museum is fully accessible to visitors using wheelchairs, walking frames and pushchairs. All exhibition levels can be reached via a lift, as can the cloakroom and lockers, which are located in the basement.

Wheelchairs and walking frames can be hired at the ticket office. Folding stools are available on the exhibition floors.

There is space to park pushchairs in the foyer.

Toilet

The museums’ shared basement level features a wheelchair-accessible toilet and an ‘all-access toilet’. Workshop participants in the creative space can use the wheelchair-accessible toilet on the 4th floor of the City Museum.

Getting here

The nearest accessible bus stop is ‘Lappan’. Paid parking spaces are available nearby in front of the museum on Am Stadtmuseum, Moslestraße and Raiffeisenstraße. Further parking options are listed under ‘How to find us’ ».

A dedicated disabled parking space at the museum will only be available again once the renovation work on the historic villas of the City Museum has been completed.

Admission

People with a severe disability card are entitled to reduced-price admission. If the disability card is marked with a ‘B’, admission is free for one accompanying person.

Guided Tours

People who are interested in art but are unable to visit the museum can take part in our telephone tours. Our programme also includes tours with sign language interpretation.
