Alice Saey

“Drawing is at the core of my artistic practice. I process impressions of my everyday environment through sketching – studies of shapes, patterns, colours, compositions, and movement – whether inspired by architecture, nature, animals, or human behaviour. I draw from observation with a naturalistic line and compose and colour based on imagination. It allows me to invent emotional and sensorial spaces of endless possibilities.”

Biography

Alice Saey is a Franco-Scottish graphic and animation artist based in Rotterdam. Often exploring the dynamics between the collective and the individual, Alice creates immersive, choreographed compositions that convey movement and organic evolution. Her dialogue-less animations, driven by rhythm and music, create a hypnotic, sensory experience that invites personal interpretation. She has animated naked ladies, dancing geese, singing volcanos and ballets of Manta Rays in her short films and music videos.
